is an indie folk singer-songwriter based in Portland, Maine. Utilizing the production stylings of indie music with the introspective storytelling of singer-songwriter music Jacob R. Hailing from a small town that never showed up on the local weather forecast, Jacob R. Miller grew up surrounded by nature and music. A major influence on him was his grandfather, who introduced him to the guitar. Over time Jacob R. Miller's love for music only grew when he learned how to play the drums in high school under the direction of his band director. After a particularly bad summer, and three days of non-stop rain, Jacob R. Miller wrote the first song he released in his singer-songwriter style “Petrichor” After playing it at an open mic night he knew he had to release it and on September 23rd, 2022 he did just that with “Petrichor - Live from the basement” a demo recorded in Corthell Hall's basement.
On February 14th, 2024 Jacob R. Miller would go on to release his first EP “Letters to My Lover” a collection of love songs for his muse, released as a Valentine's Day gift to her. The EP draws heavily from the sounds of Bruce Springsteen's “Nebraska” with honest lyrics and simplistic but effective production.
In July of 2024, after 2 years of work Jacob R. Miller released his debut album “All I Have”. Seven songs that explore all of the intricacies of life, death, love, and heartbreak.
