is an indie folk singer-songwriter based in Portland, Maine. Between the quiet connections of solo sets and the blazing sounds of his backing band Jacob R. Miller has performed all over the great state of Maine. Inspired by the great storytellers of the past Jacob R. Miller makes the listener feel the story just as much as they hear it.

Hailing from a small town that never showed up on the local weather forecast, Jacob R. Miller grew up surrounded by nature and music. A major influence on him was his grandfather, who introduced him to the guitar. Over time his love for music only grew when he learned how to play the drums in high school. After three days of non-stop rain, Jacob R. Miller wrote the first song he released in his singer-songwriter style “Petrichor” After playing it at an open mic night he knew he had to release it and on September 23rd, 2022 he did just that with “Petrichor - Live from the basement” a demo recorded in Corthell Hall's basement. 

On February 14th, 2024 Jacob R. Miller would go on to release his first EP “Letters to My Lover” a collection of love songs for his muse, released as a Valentine's Day gift to her. The EP draws heavily from the sounds of Bruce Springsteen's “Nebraska” with honest lyrics and simplistic but effective production.

In July of 2024, after 2 years of work Jacob R. Miller released his debut album “All I Have”. Seven songs that explore all of the intricacies of life, death, love, and heartbreak.

The Music

Jacob R. Miller currently has 2 projects out that have formed his sound. The first being “Letters To My Lover” a 4 track EP comprised of love songs for his muse. The project pulls from the stylings of “Nebraska” by Bruce Springsteen with the sparse arrangements and meaningful lyrics

The second project “All I Have” is a collection of 7 songs released in July of 2024. After 2 years of work “All I Have” is a collection of memories and moments from Jacob R. Miller’s life.
